Who is responsible

Visiting the website

Cloudflare, Inc. provides hosting, content delivery, storage and security. It processes connection information such as your IP address, requested address, request time, browser information and security events to deliver the website, prevent abuse and diagnose errors. Application diagnostic logs are currently retained for up to three days. Cloudflare may retain separate security information under its privacy policy.

The website does not add advertising trackers or visitor analytics. Fonts, photographs and video covers are served through this website rather than requested from Google.

Your choice about YouTube

The videos on this website are hosted on YouTube (Google). Choosing to play one allows a connection to YouTube, data processing and cookies. The player loads only when you press Play. If you do not want that connection, you can leave the video unplayed and continue browsing.

Once loaded, Google receives your IP address, browser details, this website’s origin and playback activity. It may use cookies or device storage and process data for its own purposes, including delivering the video, security and measurement. The player uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, which reduces personalisation but does not make playback anonymous. See YouTube’s explanation, Google’s privacy policy and the YouTube terms.

Your choice applies only while that player is open. Close it, or press Escape, to stop further communication from the embedded player. Reopening a video starts a new connection only when you press Play again. Closing cannot undo data already sent or remove storage Google has already placed; you can manage that through your browser and Google privacy controls. We do not save a consent preference.

Cookies and the private editor

Ordinary browsing does not require a login or a cookie placed by this website. Cloudflare may use essential cookies when security protection is needed; its cookie information explains these.

The private editor uses an essential cookie called jl_admin after an authorised editor signs in. It expires after seven days or is cleared on sign-out, and is never set during ordinary browsing.

Email and external links

If you email Jonathan, your email address and message are used to respond and handle your enquiry. Correspondence is kept for as long as needed for that purpose and any applicable legal obligations. Email is handled through Google’s Gmail service under its privacy policy. This website has no public contact form or newsletter sign-up.

Links to concert venues, management, social networks and music platforms take you to separate services. Their privacy policies apply when you visit them.

Processing outside Switzerland

Cloudflare and Google may process information abroad, including in Ireland and the United States, and use global infrastructure. Their published information describes processing locations and safeguards: Cloudflare’s data processing agreement, Cloudflare’s subprocessors and Google’s transfer frameworks. These safeguards include applicable adequacy arrangements, the Swiss-U.S. and EU-U.S. Data Privacy Frameworks and standard contractual clauses where required.

Legal grounds and your rights

Swiss data protection law applies. Where the EU or UK GDPR also applies, essential website operation and security rely on legitimate interests, enquiries relating to services on steps towards or performance of a contract, and optional YouTube loading on your consent. Legal obligations may require some records to be retained.

Depending on the law applicable to you, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, object to processing, and withdraw consent for future processing.
